Gil A. Bianchi, Jr. is a principal at Bianchi Brouillard Sousa & O'Connell, P.C.  Gil graduated from Connecticut College (B.A. History and Government, cum laude 1996) and from Boston University School of Law (J.D. 2000).  He concentrates his practice on medical malpractice, product liability, pharmaceutical negligence, nursing home negligence, construction site negligence, and catastrophic personal injury.  Prior to entering private practice, Gil served for two years as a law clerk in the Rhode Island Supreme Court Clerk Department.

In July 2012, Gil tried a car accident case in Kent County Superior Court and obtained a $2.3 million jury verdict on behalf of his clients.  With statutory interest, the judgment totaled $3.1 million.

In early 2011, Gil tried a personal injury case in Kent County Superior Court and obtained a $678,000 verdict for his client after a two week jury trial.  The Court, at Gil's request, awarded an additional $1.2 million in damages, which was accepted by the defendant's insurance company.  Gil has successfully resolved numerous cases on behalf of his clients involving medical malpractice, product liability, and nursing home negligence.

In October 2015, Gil was elected by his peers as President of the Rhode Island Association for Justice.  The Rhode Island Association for Justice is an organization of trial lawyers in Rhode Island committed to representing consumers and individuals injured due to the negligence of others.

Gil has volunteered weekly for the past nine years as a mentor at San Miguel School in Providence and serves on the San Miguel Executive Committee.  Gil also serves as the mock trial attorney coach at Our Lady of Mercy School and St. Mary’s Bay View Academy.  Gil has also been an active member of the St. Francis de Sales Finance Committee since 2004. 

Gil was an invited author in the Practical Guide to Discovery & Depositions in Rhode Island and authored Chapter 21 Obtaining Medical Records in Rhode Island.  Gil also served as the Secretary on the Superior Court Bench/Bar Subcommittee responsible for revising the Superior Court Rules of Civil Procedure in 2005-2006.  Gil is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Rhode Island Association for Justice (RIAJ) and sits on RIAJ's Board of Governors.  Gil is frequently asked to speak at schools and organizations regarding legal issues.  Most recently, Gil was invited to give a presentation on voir dire before the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers.  Gil has also been a guest speaker at the Connecticut College annual seminar on success in the legal profession.

Gil lives in North Kingstown with his wife and their five children.

Stephen J. Brouillard

Stephen J. Brouillard

Stephen J. Brouillard is a principal at Bianchi Brouillard Sousa & O'Connell, P.C.  Steve graduated from Roger Williams University, (B.A., summa cum laude, 1997) and from Roger Williams University School of Law (J.D. 2000).  He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and before the United States District Courts for Rhode Island and Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.  Steve is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Rhode Island Association for Justice.

Steve practiced for several years as an insurance defense litigator at a prominent Providence law firm.  He served as the Solicitor for the Town of Exeter Zoning Board of Review from 2000 to 2005.  He has taught Construction Law as an adjunct instructor at New England Institute of Technology since 2007.

Steve concentrates his practice on complex litigation in areas such as business and commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, medical malpractice, pharmaceutical negligence, product liability, personal injury, employment discrimination, insurance defense, construction litigation, and real estate disputes.  He also assists clients with residential and commercial land use and zoning matters throughout Rhode Island.

Theresa L. Sousa

Theresa L. Sousa

Theresa L. Sousa is a principal at Bianchi Brouillard Sousa & O'Connell, P.C.  Theresa graduated from University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, (B.S. Marketing, summa cum laude, 2004) and from Roger Williams University School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2007). She is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and before the United States District Courts for Rhode Island and Massachusetts.   

Theresa currently practices in the areas of business and corporate law, commercial transactions, commercial litigation, employment law, civil litigation, personal injury, and real estate.  She is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

Erica M. Lombardo

Erica M. o'connell

Erica M. O'Connell is a principal at Bianchi Brouillard Sousa & O'Connell, P.C.  Erica graduated from Boston College (Carroll School of Management, B.S. Accounting 2005) and from Suffolk University Law School (J.D. 2008).  Prior to entering private practice, Erica was a law clerk for the Rhode Island Supreme Court Clerk Pool (2008-2009).  She is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and before the United States District Court for Rhode Island.  Erica currently practices in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, worker's compensation, and civil litigation.

Erica is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, the Rhode Island Association for Justice, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She is also an active member of the Rhode Island Bar Association's New Lawyer's Committee and is a volunteer for the Providence Preservation Society.
